A total of 2,613 candidates are vying for victory in the Karnataka polls 2023. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded candidates in all 224 Assembly seats, while the Congress is contesting in 223 (with support from the Sarvodaya Karnataka Party in Melukote). The Janata Dal (Secular) is competing in 207 seats, followed by the Aam Aadmi Party (209), Bahujan Samaj Party (133), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (4), Janata Dal (United) (8), National People’s Party (2), and 918 independent candidates.
