Sudharsan had a breakout season in the Indian Premier League this year, as he played regularly in the top order for the Gujarat Titans and helped them reach the final. His best innings was in the final itself, where he scored 96(47) but ultimately lost the match due to rain.
Sudharsan has done well for Tamil Nadu and has made the most of his opportunity with India A. Given his current status on a developmental squad, Sudharshan will do everything in his power to make the most of this opportunity, which might lead to his being named GT’s opener and, eventually, an Indian national team call-up.
Sudharsan, who is only 21 years old, recently discussed the influence of mentors like India’s past captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in an interview with Star Sports.
“Mahi bhai is a household name. He always seems at ease and genuinely interested in learning more about me and how I can contribute to the team. That’s more crucial than attempting new things or trying to be someone else, said Sudharsan, who performed admirably against MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings but saw his team’s bowling fall short in defending a DLS-affected total.
Like Virat Kohli, Sudharsan is a stylish and powerful top-order hitter who can take his time getting set but can play a monster innings once his eye is in. But the young southpaw places a premium on Kohli’s mindset and determination. Virat Kohli has a very strong mind,” Sudharsan remarked. Consequently, I wish to steal that quality from him. Ms Dhoni- – In eight innings for the IPL this year, Sudharsan hit for over 140 and averaged 51. Moreover, he has already amassed impressive statistics in both First Class and List A cricket, despite being relatively early in his career. He completed his century and sealed India A’s victory against Pakistan A by hitting two consecutive sixes, and he’ll be looking to do the same in the final on Sunday in Colombo.
