Who won Jeopardy – A new Jeopardy! episode is here! The first episode of Season 39 with three contestants aired on Friday, July 21, 2023. Nik Berry, the previous day’s victor, came back to defend his crown against two newcomers, Ben Sasamoto and Taylor Clagett. In the most recent episode, all three competitors gave each other a serious run for their money.
The official description of the nationally broadcast game show is as follows:
An defending champion and two newcomers put their buzzer abilities and knowledge of both scholarly and popular topics to the test.
Social studies teacher and defending champion Nik Berry of Baltimore, Maryland faced up against Taylor Clagett of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, and environmental consultant Ben Sasamoto of Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the 21st edition.
At the Who won Jeopardy… Taylor Clagett is the victor.
Nik Berry appeared on Who won Jeopardy! again on Friday after winning on the July 20 edition. Despite his success in the prior episode, he was defeated by Ben Sasamoto and Taylor Clagett in the most recent segment.
There were first-round categories including “Happy 75th Birthday Israel!,” “Shakespeare,” “That Hollow Feeling,” “The Romaines of the Day,” “Track & Field,” and “Homophone Connection.”
In the first quarter, all three players contributed significantly. While Ben climbed the ranks more quickly because to Daily Double, Taylor eventually caught up and matched Ben’s score. However, Nik, a defending champion, finished in third place this time around.
Taylor, Ben, and Nik all finished the first round with scores of $3,800.
The second round’s subheadings were “Explorers,” “Internally Yours,” “Old Hollywood Scribes,” “Motley Clues,” “Stately Demonyms,” and “Ends In ‘X.'”
Both Nik and Taylor scored Daily Doubles in the Double Jeopardy round. Each player’s score dropped because they got their Daily Double question wrong. However, despite being first in the second round, Ben did not get a Daily Double bonus.
Ben had the highest score of the competitors with $9,400, followed by Taylor at $5,400 and Nik at $1,200.
Only Taylor answered the last question correctly in last Who won Jeopardy. It’s interesting that, out of the three contestants, he had the most wrong responses. But in the last round, when he risked everything and got the answer right, luck was on his side. Both Nik and Ben lost despite not having bet too much.
Results from today’s Final Jeopardy!
The show aired on July 21, and the final round was labelled “Numbers Old & New,” with the final clue/question reading:
Add up the seven Roman numerals and that’s how much it would cost in modern currency.
The correct response was “1666.”
Only Taylor got it right, but Ben lost since he didn’t remember to add “1” to his response. Nik, too, provided the wrong answer.
Taylor Clagett: $10,800 (What, $1,666!) is $5,400 more. ($10,800 for a single day)
What the heck is 666? Ben Sasamoto: $9,400 minus $3,000 equals $6,400.
For example: Nik Berry: $1,200 minus $17 equals $1,183 (What is 2166?)
Nik was voted off the show today and replaced with a new victor chosen by the fans. Taylor won for the day and will be back next week to compete against two new contestants.
On Monday, July 24, 2023, there will be a new episode.
